First, let me introduce myself, my name is Melissa and I love to create websites for businesses and individuals. My hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading and taking walks in the beautiful Dorset countryside.
Based in Dorset on the south coast of England and with a BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT, I am perfectly equipped to give your business an effective web presence through a well defined and well designed website that promtoes your business attracting visitors and potential customers. I can give advice on your choice of domain name and, while hosting is not provided in house, I can advise on the various hosting packages available. Once your website is complete and live, you can update your own site or, I can offer support and maintenance packages to meet your needs.
The Tools
I specialise in using the Content Management System (CMS) WordPress. I also have experience with the CMS Joomla, the website builder Wix and coding skills including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. With a keen passion to learn I stay up to date with the latest trends in all aspects of web design and web developments including SEO, performance and security.
I customise websites to tailor fit your design, your business needs and to promote your brand. Every website I build includes integration with Google analytics, which enables you to analyse your website traffic and visitors.
WordPress is my preferred choice because of its versatility. It has the flexibility to create almost any type of website from simple blogging sites to online stores. It is open source, very well documented and by far the most supported CMS platform available.
Additionally, it enables smooth and effortless editing and updating. Features and extensions are openly available to keep your site fresh and up to date. It supports a range of media types from image to audio and video content. Social media channels can be seamlessly integrated. In addition, it is SEO friendly making your website attractive to search engines.
